STREETS OF LONDON WORKSHOPS
I am running a series of Spring photo workshops in London. I have been taking clients on city tours for the past few years and discovered some great spots. The Spring tour takes in a rich mixture of architecture , street scenes, bridges and river views and provides everyone with a rare opportunity to see London through the lens . The weather is often quite changeable so we are able to get experience with different conditions The workshops are filled with practical knowledge, creativity, and a lot of fun.
Together with photo artist Natasha Durlacher you will learn about exposures, composition, how to read light, creative tips and and ,on the one day workshop, some post production editing and printing . if you are an accomplished photographer its a great excuse to get out and take some more pictures with a like -minded group of people
We are happy to take people of all abilities and camera knowledge. You just need a camera (!) and for the evening sessions a tripod is useful ( I have a spare one for sharing ). Im pretty familiar with most brands but if you let me know in advance I can swat up.
You can sign up or enquire here for the different workshops. Minimum attendance is two people. So If we only have one booking we will suggest to move it to a date with more people to make it more worthwhile for you (and me !)
We take a maximum of 5 people for everyones benefit but if your keen to do something more bespoke with family or friends Im also available for hire on a date that suits you. Just email me your requirements
ONE DAY WORKSHOP WITH POST PRODUCTION AND PRINT
This is a full days workshop with post production and an A3 print, made by you, courtesy of the Printspace
The idea of this day is to experiment with composition and exposures and to work on creating something really special that you would want to put on your wall. We meet at 10. am near St Pauls Cathedral and make our way along the river , crossing the bridges and up to the striking new architecture of the square mile and on to the historical streets of Shoreditch. The pace is slow to give everyone a chance to absorb, learn and develop their own interests. After lunch we walk through the backstreets of Shoreditch to reach Kingsland Road and our final destination, The Printspace where we will edit your best shots using photoshop techniques and make a beautiful print on Hannemuhle photo rag paper. What they say...
Our photography experience with Tim was fantastic! Tim made us feel very at ease and was extremely patient with our novice status. We got some wonderful shots of the city and knowledge of our cameras and techniques that we can take forward on our holiday. He even included a take home cheat sheet for us to reference. In addition, Tim went above and beyond by helping is arrange a table for supper. Definitely a highlight of our stop in London.
I absolutely loved this tour! Tim knows all the great spots in London and is incredibly patient, talented and simply wonderful! I have some photography experience but still felt challenged and appreciated his input on composition, settings etc. He also helped me navigate home. What a fantastic way to capture your visit to London. Highly recommend! Thank you, Tim!
This experience was truly one that I will never forget. Tim is patient, kind, and extremely talented. His explanation of photography basics are the best i have had to date and more importantly, it opened up my eyes to the things I would never even have thought twice about photographing. I was so weary of the big "M" button on my camera and never really knew what my camera was capable of before this experience. To be able to photograph a scene in different ways changes your entire vacation and I cant thank Tim enough for sharing his knowledge and making my vacation so much more rewarding! I was able to capture really great shots around London, even after our session. It was worth every penny and i would love to do it all again!
This is a great experience even if you already know the city, Tim will teach you how to shoot amazing pictures of London and will take you places you won’t find as a tourist. If he adds more routes is something to repeat definitely. Tim is great host and if you want amazing pics of your visit, this is just the experience to book without a doubt.
It was a perfectly planned evening tour. At the beginning Tim started with explaining the most important things about the camera settings and gave us a handout. He Took the time explaining the settings of every different camera. After that we tried the new learnings outside. Tim guided us to so much nice places for shooting and showed us how to make the perfect shot their. In the end we made some great pictures from the tower bridge from different places and with different camera settings. One was a really cool secret spot at a roof:) all in all it was a perfect mix of theoretical and practical learning and tim took a lot of time explaining everything till we understand :) perfect evening. I would definitely recommend the experience.
Three words: Brilliant, amazing, perfect!! In any case I can highly recommend ‚Photographing London with Tim‘. We‘ve been a group of five peoples, with five different photography skills. Normally that‘s the worst case for a trainer - not for Tim. He explained each of us the camera settings - regardless of whether it is a digital or reflex camera. And we all took the same brillant photos. Tim showed us a lot of amazing places to take the ‚perfect London photo‘. Thank you - Tim!!! :-))
